frequently asked questions

Q. Why Shouldn't I have my neighbor's child check on my pet

  A. Most people would feel better knowing that their pet(s) and their home are in safe hands. Let’s face it, it’s not the everyday routine that we’re necessarily concerned about … it’s that unforeseen emergency. You NEED to know that a responsible, knowledgeable, caring and loving person is taking care of your beloved pet and the care of your home in your absence.

  Q. What makes Carabee’s Critters better?
Daily Visits $1.00 per extra pet number 3 and above (i.e. 4 pets will cost $17.00 per visit and so on.) A. On the first FREE consultation, I provide you with an information application that includes ALL of your contact information as well as your pet’s Veterinarian information in the event of unforeseen circumstances. In addition, I require a complete breed and color description of each animal in my care as well as a listing of any allergies and all medications administered, whether daily or occasionally. I visit each one of my client’s veterinarians so that I know exactly where to go in the event of an emergency.

The completed application MUST be returned to me no later than the first “Play-fest” or “Snuggle-fest” with your pet(s).

Q. Can you stop by today and feed my dog?
A. No. We need to schedule a time for an initial consultation. This allows me to come visit with you and your pet(s), prior to your scheduled departure.

Q. What is the reason for the FREE In-Home Consultation.
A. There is no charge for a consultation. It allows me the opportunity to meet you, get acquainted with your pet(s) and get detailed information about caring for your pet(s) and your home.

Q. After the initial consultation, how much notice do you need for an unscheduled visit to care for my pet?
A. Providing that my schedule permits, I can visit your pet on a moments notice. There will be an additional fee for last minute scheduling.

Q. What time will you pay visits to my pet?
A. When caring for your pets, I strive to keep as close to your pet’s daily routines as possible. When I meet with you for your initial consultation, let me know all about your pet’s normal activities and I will do my best to keep to that schedule.

  Q. Can you stay OVERNIGHT with my pet(s)?
  A. Yes

  Q. What services do you offer with an OVERNIGHT stay?
  A. In addition to the loving care of your pet(s), which includes administering medications if and when necessary, I will pick-up your mail, newspapers and parcels, water your house and garden plants, alternate the lights and blinds and put your trash to the curb on service day

  Q. How much do you charge?
  A. I don’t like to quote before I find out what your individual needs are. Different people have different needs. That’s why I offer a FREE In-Home Consultation. If you really need a quick, no discussion answer, please refer to my “Services” section.

  Q. Do you offer “Pet Taxi”?
  A. Yes. I offer Pet Taxi for a scheduled visit to and from your Veterinarian or Groomer. Other destinations can be arranged as well.
